Project Discovery’s Health and Nutrition Adapted Module is ideal for special education students with exceptional needs who use alternate assessments and are motivated by hands-on learning. Students explore the role of a nutritionist or health store worker, while simultaneously learning good eating habits and planning healthy meals through knowledge of the basic food groups.
Teacher instruction contains all the contents found in Intermediate Health and Nutrition, as well as simplified text with integrated visuals, functional academic worksheets, communication supports and adapted activities.
Students will learn important job responsibilities and tasks related to:
- Identifying Products in the Health Food Department
- Understanding Food Groups
- Measuring Height and Weight
- Stocking Shelves
- Taking Inventory
